GV Family,

I hope you enjoyed worshiping with the GV family online yesterday. I missed being with you in person, but I am thankful that we have an online avenue to connect. Our staff team is working on ways to keep us connected and focused during our time apart. We look forward to being back together in the future; however, here are some important items to keep in mind moving forward:

  • We will be gathering online only the next two Sundays, March 22 & 29 at 10:30 a.m. Each week there will be a time of worship and I will be sharing a new message that is relevant to this season. This is a great opportunity for you to invite your friends to join us online.
  • Each week for those involved in GV preschool, GV Kids and GV Students, resources will be emailed to parents or shared directly through social media (GV Students) so we can all continue to take our next steps in faith and lead our families to do the same.
  • Future Gatherings – We will continue to evaluate the possibility of resuming regular on-campus gatherings. Once decisions are finalized, we will share that information with you through our website, email, and social media. All of this will be determined under the advice of civic and health officials. There are no on-campus meetings or events until further notice.
  • Office Hours – At this point, our staff will continue to have regular office hours Monday through Thursday. If we can be of any assistance to you, please let us know.
  • We want to help. Our deacons are available to assist those who are in a high-risk health category. If you have a need for someone to run an urgent errand, pick up medicine or to bring you needed supplies, call the church office.
  • Give to sustain ministry efforts. If you’re a regular giver, please continue to be faithful with your generosity at GV. When you continue to give, your financial support allows us as a church to maintain critical ministries that many depend on here and around the world. See the examples below. You can give by mail, or online.

In the midst of the uncertainty it is great to see GV doing what it always does and that is to serve. Tuesday, our food bank will be open in a drive-thru only capacity for our usual clients. Also, GV is stepping up to help provide weekender meals for children in the Hoover City School System. We do this normally for Green Valley Elementary children but are expanding this ministry during this unique time.

This situation is ever-changing, which means our response will need to be as well. We are working to consider any future contingencies that may be required. As we adjust our response, we’ll continue to let you know through our usual channels of communication.

Thank you, GV Family, for your ongoing concern and support as we all walk through this together. Though the days ahead are unknown to us, we are encouraged and comforted by knowing that God hasn’t been caught off guard by anything that has happened or will happen. In times of uncertainty, let’s look to Him in faith and Press On! Know that we are praying for you.
